A Story of Photography by Visually Impaired Students

Feel how beautiful the world is when you look through your heart.

ABOUT

"Photography is a tool to transfer a story, a message, or a thought from one person to another. It is not important what they see or cannot see. Pictures are just a tool to store and convey messages to others."

KIM KYUNG-HOON, REUTERS PHOTOJOURNALIST, 2019 PULITZER PRIZE WINNER

"With a little bit of uncertainty, I started a photography class for the visually impaired 5 years ago.

They are capturing the world through their heart, not from their eyes. A peaceful world with freedom where there is no prejudice and nothing uniform is where I see the meaning of “sight.” How one sees the world is on the eye of the beholder. How marvelous the world is when you see it through the heart.

Although pictures are crooked, out of focused and cut...light shines forth. Now, their cameras are their best friends and their dreams.

We teach them to break the stereotype by seeing the world. Do not only look front but also see what is on the sides. Do not look only up, look wide and far. Seeing with our hearts, not through our eyes."

LEE YOUNG-MIN, PRESIDENT, "PHOTO FLOWER BUD AND POET, DREAMERS OF FLOWER

"My greatest joy was being introduced to photography during the fall of 2014. I was worried and scared, however, I had a high expectation of learning photography.

Sound, wind, smell...we press our camera shutter to the unknown attraction. We try to fill our cameras with many memories as possible. We can remember our events in the past when we hear the description of our photographs.

We can never see our own pictures, and yet, I hope our photos can make your hearts bloom with love."
